ISTAT Board of Directors Changes

Last week in Shanghai, the ISTAT board approved two changes to the makeup of ISTAT’s leadership. Board secretary James Meyler resigned on 1 April, leaving an open position on the ISTAT Executive Committee. The board voted current director Mary Prettyman of Pratt & Whitney into that officer position, leaving a vacant director position. The board voted to bring Mylène Scholnick of Lenoma onto the board in that director position. Congratulations to both Mary and Mylène on their new positions.

ISTAT Chalet and Reception at Paris Air Show

Get a front-row seat at the International Paris Air Show 17-23 June by joining ISTAT at the ISTAT Chalet. Watch static and flying air displays while making connections with fellow aviation professionals. Light snacks, sandwiches and beverages will be available.

Kick off the International Paris Air Show by attending the ISTAT Reception on Monday, 17 June, at the Palais Brongniart for an evening of drinks, hors d'oeuvres and networking. All members are invited to bring one guest to this exclusive, complimentary event.

Last week, over 700 attendees converged in Shanghai at ISTAT Asia for three days of enlightening workshops, informative panels and vast networking opportunities. Attendees left with new insights into the fast-growing Asia region and connections that will make a difference.

The Second Annual ISTAT Foundation Gala

The Third Annual ISTAT Foundation Chicagoland Golf Tournament

ISTAT Internship Portal – There’s Still Time to Post Positions!

ISTAT member companies are invited to post summer or graduate internship positions on the ISTAT Internship Portal.

The Foundation’s Internship Program acts as an intermediary between ISTAT member companies and students seeking aviation internships. Through the use of our web portal, qualified students and employers are able to match the right skills, background and interests with corporate internships. Placed interns who qualify will receive a stipend from the Foundation to cover qualified housing and travel expenses of up to $2,500. Questions? Contact istatinternships@istat.org.

ISTAT Appraisers Program

ISTAT Appraisers Program Board of Governors (IBG) Welcomes New Senior Appraiser and Appraisers

Michael Lapson, Ascend by Cirium, joined the ranks of ISTAT Certified Senior Appraisers after passing the Senior Technical Exam at ISTAT Americas in March. In addition, Thomas Kaplan, Ascend by Cirium; Jim Morrison, Avolon; Tony Shen, AJW Group; and Youcef Berour Minarro, IBA, completed the requirements necessary to join the ranks of ISTAT Certified Appraisers.

ISTAT Appraising, An Introduction 

Twenty-seven attendees attended ISTAT Appraising, An Introduction, the program for those interested in the practice of appraising or who would like to know more about appraisals in general, at ISTAT Asia last week. Thanks to Olga Razzhivina and Andy Carlisle, both ISTAT Certified Senior Appraisers, for presenting. This session will also be available at ISTAT EMEA in September.

Aircraft Leasing Ireland Profile

The summer 2019 issue of Jetrader magazine includes a full profile on Aircraft Leasing Ireland, a new organization that represents 33 aircraft leasing companies in Ireland, serving as the one voice to speak on behalf of the industry. Also in this upcoming issue: a full recap of ISTAT Americas and ISTAT Asia. There will also be a conversation with ISTAT President Gerry Butler, in addition to appraisals, ISTAT Foundation activity and aviation history, as well as a host of timely and useful content created specifically for ISTAT's diverse membership.
