ISTAT Americas

Last week at ISTAT Americas, more than 2,000 aviation industry professionals from across the globe descended upon Orlando, FL for two days of networking and learning. With thirteen panel discussions and copious networking opportunities, attendees left with new knowledge and connections that matter.

Gather in Shanghai at ISTAT Asia

Now that ISTAT Americas is wrapped up, it's time to start planning for ISTAT Asia in Shanghai 7-9 May. Registration is open for this premier event featuring informative plenary sessions, multiple receptions and plenty of opportunities to meet those working in this prospering region.

This year, ISTAT Asia will feature an in-depth workshop on industry topics such as how to structure an operating lease, credit and airline risk analysis and technical asset management. Capacity is limited and separate registration is available for workshop participation at a rate of $200, which entitles attendees to participate in all sessions, breaks and lunch.

Welcome New Board Officers and Directors

We would like to welcome new board President Gerry Butler, Vice President Kostya Zolotusky, and Secretary James Meyler, all who assumed officer positions on the ISTAT board at the conclusion of ISTAT Americas.They join Dean Gerber, reelected to the position of Treasurer for another term, as members of the ISTAT Executive Committee. Three new board directors were also elected: Julian Balaam of Skytech-AIC, Paul Geaney of Avolon and Michael Warner of Boeing Capital Corporation. In addition, Daniel Pietrzak of Delta Air Lines was re-elected for another four-year term. A special thank you to all candidates who ran in this year's election.

ISTAT would also like to share a heartfelt thank you to the following board members whose terms expired: Marc S. Allinson of Charlotte Parker Associates, Dick Forsberg of Avolon, David Sutton of VLF Aviation Services, LLC and Steven Townend of BOC Aviation Limited.

Foundation Happenings

The Second Annual ISTAT Foundation Gala – Register Today!

Registration is now open for the second annual ISTAT Foundation Gala. Join the ISTAT Foundation on Monday, 3 June at The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago for a celebration of philanthropic achievement. Individual tickets are available to purchase for $350 or reserve your table for $7,500. Each table has space for 10 guests.

The Third Annual ISTAT Foundation Chicagoland Golf Tournament

2018 Annual Report

ISTAT Internship Portal – There’s Still Time to Post Positions!

ISTAT member companies are invited to post summer or graduate internship positions on the ISTAT Internship Portal.

The Foundation’s Internship Program acts as an intermediary between ISTAT member companies and students seeking aviation internships. Through the use of our web portal, qualified students and employers are able to match the right skills, background and interests with corporate internships. Placed interns who qualify will receive a stipend from the Foundation to cover qualified housing and travel expenses of up to $2,500. Questions? Contact istatinternships@istat.org.

ISTAT Appraisers Program

The IAP held its first off-site Business Meeting and Continuing Education session at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach on 10 March. The session was well attended and gave Appraisers the opportunity to hear from industry experts on cargo conversions, engines and being an expert witness.

Senior Appraiser Neil Whitehouse's contributions to the IAP were recognized with the granting of the honorary title of Fellow.

Certification exams were held a few days before ISTAT Americas. Five ISTAT Certified Appraisers sat for the exam to become Senior Appraisers and twelve Appraiser Candidates sat for exams to become Appraisers.
