Message from the President
Dear ISTAT Members,
As I mentioned earlier this year when I stepped into the role of ISTAT President, 2021 looked promising, but was still going to have its challenges, both for our industry and for our association. I am pleased to share that ISTAT has successfully hosted two in-person events so far this year – the ISTAT Miami Conclave in April and the ISTAT Latin America Forum held in Mexico City in August. Both events had strong participation, with 350 joining the Conclave and 160 people at the Forum, which had 20% airline attendance. Most importantly, members were thrilled to be together again.
As we head into our busy autumn season, COVID continues to present new challenges for everyone but we remain committed to hosting several events for members to gather. The feedback on the events we have offered to date has been very positive and all comply with local health and safety guidelines. In-person meetings remain essential to our respective businesses and help form the fabric of our industry so I am hopeful that you will consider joining us.
ISTAT EMEA is just a few short weeks away and we have a full ISTAT experience waiting for you in Edinburgh. Recognizing that the guidelines to enter Scotland, and returning home can be somewhat confusing, we want to assist you with your planning. Please check out the ISTAT EMEA website to learn about all the necessary testing requirements for Scotland and resources to help you plan your entrance and exit.
Later in October, we look forward to hosting ISTAT Asia in Singapore. Be on the lookout for more information on that event soon.
ISTAT Americas planning is underway with registration now open and we are looking forward to gathering back in Austin, Texas again this November. Finally, the ISTAT Holiday Receptions are also still scheduled to take place in Dublin, London, New York and Tokyo on 1 December. Additional details for both events will be shared in the coming weeks.
As you may have seen, we have changed our registration policy so that now all registration cancellations will be fully refunded, no matter the time or reason. We want to ensure that you have the flexibility to change plans throughout 2021 if necessary. Certainly you can expect that all of our events will provide a safe and comfortable environment that will live up to the high standards we have set at ISTAT.
As always, we appreciate and value your support and are working hard to bring our community back together in person in 2021 and beyond. Should you have any questions about our upcoming events or other ISTAT offerings, please feel free to reach out to me or your ISTAT headquarters team at istat@istat.org.
Best Regards,
Dean Gerber
