A Message from ISTAT President Gerry Butler
Dear ISTAT Member,
As we approach the end of the year, I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge the personally and professionally challenging year we have had. Whether you are a new professional or a more experienced colleague who has weathered the ups and downs and ultimate resiliency of our industry before, 2020 has without a doubt taken us all for a ride.
In whichever way this year has impacted you, I hope you have found ISTAT to be a true partner in the journey. Like everything else, our ISTAT experiences this year have looked different than they have in the past. While we were lucky enough to convene in Austin this past March for ISTAT Americas, that was unfortunately the last time we gathered this year. I hope that as an ISTAT member you’ve been able to take advantage of the new, online programming we launched to keep us all connected. ISTAT Chats, ISTAT Learning Lab and the ISTAT Podcast have provided us entertainment, counsel, education and connection through a variety of mediums, and are all available on-demand on the ISTAT website.
This year we were also able to demonstrate the global impact of our community through the ISTAT Foundation’s giving programs. Earlier this spring, we committed an additional $500,000 to the ISTAT Foundation for global COVID-19 relief, which was distributed via grants to 12 organizations worldwide.
While we can expect the impacts of the pandemic to continue into 2021, I want to ensure you that ISTAT will continue to provide resources, connection and relief through the next phase of this journey.
I hope you will take this opportunity to renew your ISTAT membership. I have only touched on the many benefits your membership provides, and I know that as a community, we will find new and exciting ways to do business and celebrate our industry in the months ahead.

Wishing you and your families health and safety.
Gerry Butler, ISTAT President
