ISTAT Commits US$500,000 for Global COVID-19 Relief
The International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT) has committed, by way of the ISTAT Foundation, US$500,000 for the purpose of global COVID-19 relief as the pandemic continues to have massive implications for the travel, tourism and aviation industry.
ISTAT historically provides the ISTAT Foundation with an annual grant to continue their mission of supporting individuals and institutions that promote the advancement of commercial aviation and humanitarianism. The US$500,000 commitment to global COVID-19 relief is in addition to the US$800,000 presented to the ISTAT Foundation on behalf of members this March. These funds support planned giving through its Scholarships, Internships, ISTAT University, Grants and Humanitarian Aid Programs.
“I was honored to present the US$800,000 check to the Foundation on members’ behalf earlier this year, and it is used in ways that truly will make a difference,” states ISTAT President Gerry Butler. “However, in times such as these, it is our privilege and responsibility as an organization to step up and provide additional support in the global initiative against COVID-19.”
With this relief grant, the Foundation will support registered non-profit, non-governmental organizations worldwide that are directly responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, have an aviation connection and a strong financial need. Applications for grant funds are currently being accepted.
