Apply to ISTAT PDP

Applications for ISTAT’s Professional Development Program (PDP), in association with PwC, in Dublin 2020 are open now until 15 November. ISTAT PDP is a program designed for professionals with 1-5 years of industry experience and takes a deep dive into the airline industry and the design, manufacturing, maintenance, valuation, trading and financing of commercial aircraft. Kick off the year with new networking opportunities in Dublin and Singapore! Foundation Happenings

Congratulations to the 2019 ISTAT Foundation Humanitarian Grant Recipients

This year, the Foundation awarded $100,000 to 11 charities in support of aviation-related humanitarian efforts worldwide. In addition, the Foundation provided a $100,000 grant to Airlink in support of its mission. Learn more about the humanitarian grant recipients.

ISTAT Appraisers Program

ISTAT Appraisers Program at China Air Finance Development Summit

In addition to giving the well-received keynote address at ISTAT EMEA in Berlin, Dick Forsberg of the IAP Board of Governors presented An Introduction to Commercial Aircraft Appraising at the China Air Finance Development Summit in Tianjin in early September. Dick provided an overview of ISTAT, the rise of aircraft leasing and trading, and an introduction to ISTAT appraising.

Appraiser Exams

Interest in the ISTAT Appraisers Program remains strong. At ISTAT EMEA, there were five first-time test takers sitting for the set of four exams required to become an ISTAT Certified Appraiser and six retaking one or more exams. There were also three ISTAT Certified Appraisers sitting for the exam to become an ISTAT Certified Senior Appraiser with another four retaking the exam.

Continuing Education

Twenty-eight IAP members visited MTU's maintenance facility in Brandenburg, Germany, which was held in conjunction with ISTAT EMEA. Participants were able to explore both the facility's engine test stand and engine maintenance, repair and overhaul workshops, and discuss the MRO and engine leasing businesses with the MTU team.

ISTAT Appraising - An Introduction

ISTAT Appraising – An Introduction, the program for those interested in the practice of appraising or those who would just like to know more about appraisals and their meaning, was well attended, with 29 delegates on hand during ISTAT EMEA. Thanks to ISTAT Certified Senior Appraisers Andy Carlisle of Goshawk and Rikard de Jounge of AVITAS for presenting.

If you were unable to attend, the next overview will be given at ISTAT Americas in March 2020.
