Los Angeles-based JetZero is developing a new generation of sustainable jets. With support from NASA and the U.S. Air Force, it is building a full-scale blended wing demonstrator aircraft with its first flight in 2027. The demonstrator will be comparable in size to airliners carrying 200-plus passengers over distances of more than 5,000 nm, but with roughly half the fuel consumption and emissions. In this ISTAT Learning Lab, JetZero founder and CTO Mark Page discuss the evolution of blended wing technology, and JetZero Advisory Board member Warren Willits discuss the market for such an aircraft.
