ISTAT Award
Each year, ISTAT seeks a candidate to receive a distinguished honor in the commercial aviation industry: the ISTAT Award. The 2025 ISTAT Award Committee is now accepting nominations.
Candidates may be selected from all industry segments, including, but not limited to, operators, manufacturers, maintenance facility operators, financiers, lessors, appraisers and insurers. Criteria for nomination shall include outstanding contributions in the form of personal, corporate, technical, sales, product or marketing achievements that have benefited ISTAT and the commercial aviation industry.
Submit a Nomination
The deadline to submit a nomination has been extended to Thursday, 1 August 2024.
Background
The ISTAT Award is a distinguished honor in the aviation industry. The award was created in 2001 by the association to recognize individuals who have made lasting contributions to the industry over a significant period of time. The award is bestowed annually at the ISTAT Americas Annual Conference. A complete list of past recipients is listed below and can also be found at www.istat.org.
Criteria
The award is designed to recognize individuals who have demonstrated the ability to be true leaders in the industry. The award is not designed to recognize companies. While consideration will be given to nominees who are active ISTAT members, ISTAT membership is not a requirement for award eligibility or part of the evaluation criteria. Candidates may be selected from all industry segments including, but not limited to manufacturers, financiers, lessors, airline personnel, appraisers or others engaged in activities related to commercial aviation.
Selection Process
An official memo and reply form will be sent from the ISTAT Award Committee requesting nominations from ISTAT members. The response form should include an overview of why the candidate is deserving of the award. The committee will review candidates submitted by the membership as well as others of its own choosing and make a recommendation to the ISTAT Board of Directors. The ISTAT Board of Directors will select the ISTAT Award Winner from among the names submitted and recommended by the committee, as well as any other candidates the Board believes are appropriate to consider.
Announcement
Once the candidate has been selected as the recipient, a member of the committee will notify the award winner and an official announcement will be made to the membership and media.
